Night Prayer
Compline · about 8 minutes
Confession
Silence, then this together or alone.
I confess to God almighty that I have sinned, in thought, word, and deed, by what I have done, and by what I have left undone.God, who is faithful, forgives all who repent and believe.
Psalmody
Psalm 91, verses of protection for the night.
He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High
shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress:
my God; in him will I trust.
He shall cover thee with his feathers,
and under his wings shalt thou trust.
Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night;
nor for the arrow that flieth by day.
For he shall give his angels charge over thee,
to keep thee in all thy ways.

Canticle: the Song of Simeon
Lord, now lettest thou thy servant depart in peace,
according to thy word.
For mine eyes have seen thy salvation,
which thou hast prepared before the face of all people;
to be a light to lighten the Gentiles,
and to be the glory of thy people Israel.
