Adiaphora
Greek for “indifferent things”: practices neither commanded nor forbidden by Scripture, left to Christian freedom and local custom: candles, vestment colors, the exact order of a service. Lutherans have historically fought hardest over insisting that adiaphora stay adiaphora.
