Maundy Thursday
Also called Holy Thursday.
The Thursday of Holy Week, commemorating the last supper and the washing of feet. “Maundy” comes from the Latin mandatum, from the antiphon sung at the footwashing: “A new commandment I give to you” (John 13:34) — the command to love as Christ has loved.
